Surfers ride into trouble

COASTGUARDS were called out after a windsurfer and a kitesurfer got into difficulties in the Forth.

The three-strong RNLI Queensferry crew of Derek Sutton, Mike Garfitt and Mike Crawford found the pair struggling to get ashore in extreme conditions in Silverknowes after receiving a call at around 4.20pm yesterday from a passer-by.

As the endangered duo were in shallow water when the coastguards arrived, the crew waited until they got on to land before going to their assistance.
