Superfast boost for Borders town

A CAMPAIGNER who has brought “superfast” broadband to his town believes it can boost tourism and business in the area.

Brian McCrow led Innerleithen in the Scottish Borders in a BT Race to Infinity competition, in which communities voted to be the next area to have their online connectivity upgraded. After being named as one of six winners across Britain in January, the town’s upgrade is due to be completed by March – and Mr McCrow believes it will attract people to the area.

He said: “It’s going to be good for our tourism, which is fishing, golfing and especially mountain biking.”
