Sugar to lead business panel

ENTERPRISE champion Lord Sugar will head up a new task force to advise the government on how to ensure small businesses are treated fairly, Prime Minister Gordon Brown announced yesterday.

A panel including John Wright, the outgoing chairman of the Federation of Small Businesses, and Mike Fairey, the former deputy chief executive of Lloyds TSB, will help determine the role of the Small Business Credit Adjudicator (SBCA), which was announced in the Budget.

The SBCA will hear cases where a company may have been unfairly denied credit.
