‘Stupid’ man crashed car
A “STUPID” driver caused £2000 worth of damage to a car when he crashed it into metal railings.
Jamie Kelly was more than twice the limit, only held a provisional licence and wasn’t insured to drive the vehicle. Livingston Sheriff Court was told the car belonged to his girlfriend’s sister and he now had to pay £2000 because it was a write-off.
Paul Beaton, prosecuting, said police who arrived at the crash scene at 3am smelled alcohol on Kelly’s breath.
In reply to caution and charge Kelly said: “I’m stupid”.
The 19-year-old from Livingston, West Lothian, was fined £565 and banned from driving for 12 months.
