Stunning picture of city lights at Christmas

A Stunning image showing the Capital illuminated by millions of festive lights has been taken by a student flying over the city.

Katie Dudgeon, 22, snapped the amazing shot on a night-time flight from London Gatwick to Aberdeen.

The HR management student at Robert Gordon University was returning to Aberdeen after a girls’ weekend in London with her sister.

She said: “I love to see busy cities from above when I’m flying and take as many photos as I can.

“I suppose it was just instinct and a bit of luck that I happened to be sitting in the window seat.

“It was quite a clear night so I could easily see the outline of Princes Street and Murrayfield Stadium.

“The route goes all the way up the East coast. I could see Newcastle, Dundee and even my home town, North Berwick, from above.”
