Students help out homeless by donating 200 items

STUDENTS from Jewel and Esk College have donated more than 200 items to homeless charity Streetwork’s Christmas appeal.

The Edinburgh-based charity helps get the city’s most vulnerable homeless people off the streets and provides support to help them get their lives back on track.

Students from Jewel and Esk have been asking people to donate soaps, shampoo, shower gel, toiletries and hygiene products for the charity’s annual collection.

Jackie Brown, fundraising and relationship manager at Streetwork, said: “The support and donations from the students has been brilliant.

“Items like this may seem basic but are essential for the health and wellbeing of our service users who are not able to buy them.”
