Students in fresh demo

STUDENTS in the Capital have promised further demonstrations ahead of a Westminster vote on raising tuition in England next week, after ending their ten-day occupation of the University of Edinburgh's Appleton Tower.

Protesters ended their action at midnight on Wednesday, ahead of the start of end of term exams yesterday. "We are pleased to announce that we will leave of our own free will, not defeated but triumphant," the group said in a statement.
