Student aims to set record

A CITY student is among 300 video game creators set to take part in a national world record attempt.

Train2Game, a teaching company focusing on computer games development, has teamed up with Microsoft to set the world record for the largest game jam – a collective effort to create video games – held in a single location.

Starting tomorrow, art and animation student Catherine Labranche-Marois, 28, from Waverley Park in Abbeyhill, will create video games for Windows 8 in only 48 hours at the University of Bedfordshire.

She said: “I always enjoyed art and in my spare time love playing computer games. I always wondered what artistic skills go into making games so thought I would learn. The course is brilliant as it combines my two loves of art and games.”
