Street brawl trio charged

THREE men have been arrested and charged in connection with a "serious disturbance" in Hanover Street on Boxing Day.

The alleged incident took place around 3.45am near to Garibaldi's bar, but the venue itself was not connected to the incident.

Two 30-year-old men and a 46-year-old man were due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court from custody yesterday.

A spokesman for Lothian and Borders Police said: "I can confirm that three males have been arrested and charged following a serious disturbance in the early hours of Boxing Day.

"They were scheduled to appear at court in Edinburgh yesterday."
