Store murder bid charge

A 32-YEAR-OLD woman has been charged with attempted murder after a shop security guard was nearly run over by a car.

Jennifer Philip, of Wheatsheaf Lane, Dalkeith, was bailed to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on November 2.

Police were hunting a couple suspected of shoplifting who racially abused the guard at B&Q in Newcraighall on October 14. They fled after the guard confronted them and later drove a white Peugeot at him. The guard leapt out of the way, but was chased into the building by the male suspect, who threatened him before escaping.
