Sporty silvers going for gold

Care home residents from across Midlothian are gearing up for the county's first Senior Olympics - featuring New Age curling, beat the goalie and tug o' war.

The inaugural event is being held tomorrow at Mayfield Leisure Centre. Residents have been working to pull together their teams. It's expected to be a packed event with participants from around 12 care homes.

Councillor Peter Boyes said: "This event is designed to ensure older people are included in the Olympic legacy."
