Speed safety sign installed

A SPEED warning sign has been installed close to a primary school in East Lothian as part of a safer travel plan.

The solar-powered sign, located on the busy A198 close to Aberlady Primary, has a radar unit which measures a car’s speed as it approaches before transmitting that data on a display.

If a motorist exceeds the limit the sign issues a flashing warning to slow down to 30mph.

Headteacher Patsy Curran said: “We welcome the new speed sign and are very grateful to Gullane Area Community Council for paying for it to be put up.”
