Speed-dating night to help homeless Romanian family

A CITY fundraiser is holding a charity speed-dating night to help build a new home for a Romanian family.

Chris McIntyre wants to raise £10,000 to build a modest two-bedroom house in the village of Darmanesti after being touched by the story of a mum and two daughters that he and his family met in Romania.

So far he’s raised £4000 and hopes to edge closer to his target at the event at Lulu, in George Street, on April 18.

Chris, 24, met Romanian mum Ana and her children Bianca, ten, and Unella, 11, last year.

He was told the children were so frightened of their abusive father that they would sleep outside at night.

They have since moved to stay with relatives but have to share a tiny room between them.
