Spain route to take off

A SECOND airline is set to begin flights between Edinburgh and Barcelona – a route vacated by the demise of Flyglobespan.

Spanish budget airline Vueling said it would begin operating the service three times a week from 24 June to 12 September.

The news comes after Spanair unveiled a new five-times-a-week service, beginning on 21 May.

Alex Cruz, chief executive of Vueling, said: "We are delighted to add Scotland to Vueling's route network."
