South Ayrshire hit-and-run man’s family beg for help

The family of a man who died in a hit-and-run incident in South Ayrshire has appealed for information.

Ian Brown, 48, was struck by a vehicle as he walked home to Dailly after a night out with friends at Girvan bowling club.

His wife Myra and her sister Yvonne Holland issued a statement through Strathclyde Police. “Ian was a loving husband and father. His death has left our whole family devastated,” the family said.

“I am asking anyone who knows anything, even if they think it’s not relevant, to please pass it on to the police. It’s so important that we find out what happened so please, please come forward.

“Only when we know what happened will we be able to begin moving on and trying to come to terms with his death.”

Mr Brown was found dead on the Dailly to Girvan road at about 3.05am on Saturday.
