South Africa: Man convicted of 13 sugar-cane murders

A SERIAL killer has been convicted of murdering 13 women and dumping their bodies in sugar-cane plantations around South Africa.

Thozamile Taki was found guilty on 26 charges, including murder and robbery with aggravating circumstances. He will be sentenced later.

His former girlfriend and co-accused, Hlengiwe Nene, who has also been held in custody since 2007, was found not guilty.
