‘Souper’ award for seaside café

An online tourist guide has named the Gypsy Cream Coffee House in Largs as the café which makes the best soup in Scotland.

The Good Soup Guide, which covers more than just soup, also praised Dreel Tavern in Anstruther, Fife as the best bar in Scotland, while Perth Museum & Art Gallery was lauded as the best thing to see in the country.

Brewdog’s “Punk IPA”, was named as the best ale brewed in Scotland by the guide.

“Never have I tasted such a gloriously fragrant ale,” said the guide’s editor, Edward Burns.

The section of the Southern Upland Way between Melrose and Lauder was highlighted as the best “little walk” in Scotland.
