Something
more than
a 5k run

A TWO-DAY event where entrants complete a series of timed five kilometre runs will be launched in the Capital in August.

Thousands of runners, friends and family associated with recreational network Jogscotland are expected to gather for the One Big Weekend race.

Participants will be encouraged to achieve a personal best time or to raise money for
charity.

Prizes will be awarded to race winners and for other individual achievements.

One Big Weekend race director Neil Kilgour said: “These are so much more than your usual 5k runs. For a start, they’re chip timed, giving Jogscotland members and other runners the chance to work towards a goal and set a personal best.”

Runs will also be hosted in Aberdeen, Glasgow and Perth across August 3-4.
