The bodies of three soldiers killed in Afghanistan arrived back in the UK today.

Corporal William Savage, 30, Fusilier Samuel Flint, 21, and Private Robert Hetherington, 25, all based at Glencorse Barracks in Pencuik, died when their Mastiff armoured vehicle was hit by a roadside device during a routine patrol in Helmand on April 30.

A plane carrying them landed at RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire at 1.30pm.

A private service was then held for their families at the military air base.
