Snow reason to forget

Indie band Broken Records will take part in a snowman building competition in The Meadows tomorrow.

The contest will raise funds for Shelter Scotland, and donations can be made at www.justgiving.com/snowmenforshelter.

The competition begins at noon by the Pavilion Cafe next to Melville Drive. Judging will take place at 3.15pm.

The charity's director, Graeme Brown, said: "While snow is fun for people who are warm there are many people who are threatened by this extreme cold snap."
