Skydive dad honoured by record karts race
More than 250 drivers took part in the biggest charity karting event yet held in Scotland, which took place over four days at Xtreme Karting in Newbridge.
More than £10,000 was raised for the Children’s Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS) and Maggie’s Centres, in memory of Mr Ball, who lived in Barnton.

Hide AdThe 56-year-old, who was educated at Stewart’s Melville College and graduated from Edinburgh University, was a leader in his field.
He died when his parachute failed to open during a jump at Strathallan Airfield, near Auchterarder in Perth and Kinross.
Mr Ball’s son, Oscar, said: “Everyone has been extremely supportive, and this has meant a lot to the family.”
