Sir Sean Connery shrugs off police phone-hacking warning

SIR Sean Connery was the latest celebrity to be dragged into the phone-hacking scandal yesterday after it emerged police had warned journalists may have sought to listen to his messages.

Police had told the James Bond actor he may have been hacked around ten times, the actor’s spokesman said.

It is understood that his name appeared on the records of Glenn Mulcaire, the private detective jailed for his role in hacking phones for the News of the World.

A spokesman for Connery said the 81-year-old had not sought to take the matter any further, saying he did not want to “get involved” in any further police inquiries.

Sir Sean’s biographer Murray Grigor said: “The police were quite excited about it but he doesn’t want to know. He’s just having a good time and he just shrugged it off.”
