Shop mascot in kilt appeal

A RECORD shop is appealing for a kilt for the popular mascot outside its city centre store after its original one was stolen.

Tommy Robertson, the owner of Backtracks record store in Tollcross wants to kit out his Mad Hatter character in time for a fundraising wear-a-kilt-day.

But the mascot has been kilt-less since its last kilt was stolen a year ago.

Mr Robertson said: "The Cash for Kids wear-a-kilt-day takes place on November 26 and it would be great to find a little one for him.

"He's quite a well-known figure in Tollcross and I'm sure people would like to see him dressed for the occasion. It's also important to raise some money for a good cause.

"We'd only need a small kilt. I'm hoping someone would have one spare."
