Sheep dyed purple

SHEEP grazing next to Scotland's busiest motorway will adopt an unusual look this week when they are dyed purple to raise awareness of veterans' charity Erskine.

The animals from Bathgate's Boghall Farm, owned by farmer Andrew Jack and famous for grazing on the green grass of the town's Pyramids Business Park, will adopt Erskine's signature colour to mark the charity's Erskine Week fundraising campaign.

Motorists will be able to see the herd on a hillside between junctions 3A and 4 of the M8 near Bathgate.

Mr Jack, 58, said: "The sheep might find each other strange for a day, but that passes. It's very good to be helping Erskine."
