Sexual health sign damaged

A CONTROVERSIAL sign outside a new sexual health clinic has been damaged by vandals.

Critics said the sign at the Chalmers Sexual Health Centre in Lauriston Place, which included the full name of the centre, was too explicit about the building’s purpose and was making patients afraid to enter because of the stigma attached.

However, over recent weeks vandals have removed several of the letters from the first two words of the sign, and NHS Lothian decided to remove the rest to make it look neater, leaving it reading “health centre”.
