Sex attack on girl with learning difficulties

POLICE are hunting a man who lured a 12-year-old girl with learning difficulties into a close and indecently assaulted her.

The attack happened at about 3:45pm on Thursday in Rowan Road in the Abronhill area of Cumbernauld, North Lanarkshire.

Before the assault, the same man had been seen nearby helping two other young girls to repair a bicycle.

Detectives said the victim had suffered a "terrifying ordeal" and they are appealing for witnesses.

The suspect was described as a white, of slim build with dark hair. He was wearing blue denim jeans.
