Seven in court after Oban raid

Six men and a woman appeared in private at Oban Sheriff Court yesterday following a major drugs trafficking raid by 70 police officers in the town on Friday.

They were arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking offences as a result of Operation Independence, where 12 homes and one hotel room were searched in the biggest operation of its kind ever to take place in Oban. The group was charged with a variety of drugs-related offences.

Andrew Morrison, of High Street, Oban, was released on bail and the others were all remanded in custody. They made no plea or declaration.
