Service for Capital skier

A MEMORIAL service was being held today for champion skier Craig Macfie, who was killed in a road accident in the United States.

Mr Macfie, 24, from Edinburgh, who had won a string of titles, died after a car knocked him off his bike in Oregon.

He had been due to graduate next month after going to the US to study. Today’s service at Mortonhall Crematorium has been described as a celebration of his life and guests were asked not to wear black ties.
