Second man reported over Donald Trump paragliding protest at Turnberry

A second man has been reported to prosecutors in connection with a paragliding protest at Turnberry while Donald Trump was staying at the hotel.

A banner reading Trump Well Below Par was flown from the aircraft shortly after the US president arrived at his South Ayrshire hotel on Friday July 13.

Police Scotland said a 35-year-old man has been reported to the procurator fiscal in connection with the incident.

A 55-year-old man was arrested and charged in July and was released pending further inquiries.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Police Scotland can confirm that a second man, aged 35 years, has been reported to the procurator fiscal in connection with an incident when a powered parachute was flown in the vicinity of the Turnberry Hotel around 9.45pm on Friday July 13 2018.”

Mr Trump and his wife Melania were staying at the Trump Turnberry resort during the private leg of their visit to the UK, after the president had meetings with Prime Minister Theresa May and the Queen.
