Seafield still under scrutiny

MONITORING of the Seafield stench will be extended to allow environmental health experts to gather evidence.

Councillors voted to extend scrutiny of the waste treatment plant after local residents demanded a review.

Councillor Lesley Hinds said: “This was about how we take a decision with all the information. It’s about meeting the residents, Scottish Water and the officials, and moving forwards.”

A Scottish Water spokesman said: “We have always agreed to the extension of monitoring over the summer months.”
