Scottish stars to shine for longer at G8

TOP Scottish bands and DJs are to take part in a fundraising concert to raise cash for world poverty ahead of the G8 summit.

Edinburgh club Cabaret Voltaire is to host the fundraiser, called Make Poverty History, the day after more than 200,000 people are set to protest in the Capital.

Bands Idlewild, Teenage Fanclub and Mogwai are to feature in the event, as well as DJs from Edinburgh clubs Snatch and Modern Lovers, which will take place after a Stop the War Coalition march in the city centre.

There will also be a live set from El Presidente and an auction of music memorabilia to help generate funds for Action Aid.
