The 19-year-old had the backing of her home town of Dunkeld but it wasn’t enough to propel her to the final. Episode nine saw the contestants show off their skills by making a chocolate pastry tart, a chocolate soufflé and a chocolate centrepiece.

Both Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry said the tasted a bit of “raising agent” in Flora’s creation, with Mary going on to describe her attempt as a “huge disappointment”.

Flora said she was “gutted” to be leaving the show but “honoured” to have got so far.
