Oasis reunion tour 2025 LIVE: Two Scotland concerts announced - and here's how to get tickets

It has been 15 long years since the warring Gallagher brothers broke up the band in 2009 - and three decades since their hugely popular debut album Definitely Maybe was released

But now, after a torturous wait for devoted fans, an Oasis reunion tour is finally on.

Fourteen UK and Ireland dates were officially announced on Tuesday morning at 8am. And Scotland is set to get two concerts at Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh, with August 8-9 locked in for Liam and Noel Gallagher to perform in the Scottish capital. Tickets will go on sale on Saturday, August 31 and the details can be accessed here

Key Events

  • Liam and Noel Gallagher officially announced the long-awaited Oasis reunion tour on Tuesday
  • Fans of the Manchester rock band had pleaded with the brothers to regroup since they disbanded in 2009, prompted by a backstage brawl at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris

Did Liam Gallagher get famous enough to buy his Scottish "gaff"?

It was 15 years ago when Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher told a Scottish crowd that he loved Scotland so much he was going to buy a “gaff up here” when he got famous.

Does Liam feel his fame has reached such heights that he is able to secretly buy his Scottish crash pad? He might find it cheaper to snap up a place of his own north of the border before next August than to try to rent a room over Oasis’ two nights in Edinburgh at the peak of the festival.

Here our reporter Graham Falk remembers that comment - and reminisces over Oasis’ warm relationship with Scotland, including the last time the band played at Murrayfield at the turn of the century.

We need to talk about scams. I’m sorry to put a downer on this morning’s excitement, but there would be nothing worse than thinking you had snapped up a ticket for the hottest gig to hit Scotland since Taylor Swift - and turn up at Murrayfield next August to find your ticket was a fake.

Make sure you only buy tickets from official retailers such as Ticketmaster - and be wary of anything that seems to be a deal that is too good to be true - it probably is.

On a more upbeat - but no less stressful note - here’s a guide to increasing your chances of getting your hands on a ticket for the Oasis gigs when they go on sale. They’re bound to be sold out within minutes, so it’s best to be as prepared as possible.

Can you compare Oasis and TayTay?

It’s difficult not to compare the upcoming Oasis gig with that of Taylor Swift, though I realise by doing so, I’m probably offending everybody involved.

The rush for tickets, the iconic, once-in-a-lifetime experience. The feeling of embracing the zeitgeist.

Two X users here sum it up perfectly.

Can you really be a fan if you weren't even born when Wonderwall came out?

The...ahem...slightly older demographic of diehard Oasis fans is also a topic of debate on socials.

Should fans have to provide proof of age of say, 40-plus to get early bird access to tickets? Some hope so.

Others are positively resentful that some of the gold dust tickets could go to people who were barely even in primary school when the band split up.
