Scottish Cup final: The famous fans

DOUGRAY Scott, Irvine Welsh, Alex Salmond and Andy Murray will be among the host of star fans we will be looking out for today.

The Hollywood A-lister, writer and First Minister have all confirmed their attendance but Andy Murray’s “conveniently early” exit from the Italian Open has fuelled speculation that the tennis ace will join mum Judy at Hampden to support his beloved Hibs.

Leith-born Irvine Welsh confirmed his place among the Easter Road faithful in a tweet yesterday, where he said: “Hungover after last night’s Cannes excesses. Plan to take it easy tonight as early start to make Hampden the morn.”

The red carpet will be rolled out for other famous faces including First Minister Alex Salmond, broadcaster Grant Stott, Rebus star Ken Stott and Hibs-daft duo The Proclaimers.

Andy Murray’s grandfather, Roy, who turned out for Hibs in his youth, is expected to join Judy in the stands.

Judy said: “I’m there for sure with several family members. I’ve got my Hibs top with Murray on the back all ready.”
