Scots 'to publish Assange book'

Julian Assange's memoirs may be published by Scottish-based publishing house Canongate. The founder of Wikileaks, whose website has sparked a worldwide diplomatic crisis, is understood to have his memoirs partly written and available for publication within three months.

Canongate, owned by Edinburgh literary star Jamie Byng, has the rights in Britain, while Random House will publish in the United States, according to leaked e-mails.

The Wikileaks founder is on bail and living in England under house arrest as he prepares to fight extradition to Sweden, where he is wanted for questioning over alleged sexual offences.
