Scotmid sniffs store success

A NEW brand of fragrance stores is to be rolled out across the UK by Edinburgh-based convenience store operator Scotmid.

The firm has already been operating two pilot prestige brand stores, named The Fragrance House, in Livingston and Dundee.

And the Newbridge-based firm, which also owns semichem, is now aiming to open another 10 branches of The Fragrant House within a year.

Colin McLean, Scotmid's chief operating officer, said: "The Fragrance House is a natural development for us. We have seen very strong sales figures throughout, particularly over the Christmas period. We have a very experienced team to drive the business forward."
