Scotch whisky chief in minimum price war

A LEGAL challenge to the introduction of minimum pricing on alcohol in Scotland is under way at the Court of Session in Edinburgh.

The Scotch Whisky Association (SWA) – led by chief executive Gavin Hewitt, above – and several European wine and spirits bodies are seeking a judicial review of the legislation. Ministers say they are committed to introducing the policy, which they believe will save lives.
