Derek McGraw Ferguson is being hunted by Police Scotland in connection with the death of Thomas Cameron in Bishopbriggs.

Police launched a murder investigation after Mr Cameron, a 49-year-old barman, was shot dead in the car park of the Auchinairn Tavern.

The National Crime Agency said Ferguson had been added to a new website - www.eumostwanted.eu - which will feature high-profile “wanted” criminals who have been convicted or suspected of having committed serious crimes or terrorist acts across Europe.

Dave Allen, head of the NCA’s UK International Crime Bureau, said: “We already have very successful most wanted campaigns that focus on individuals who are thought to be in Spain, Cyprus and the Netherlands.

“Joining forces with our European law enforcement partners will enable us to widen the search for high-profile individuals wanted by the UK, increasing the chance of them being recognised and arrested or handing themselves in.”

This is the first European initiative to jointly present a most wanted list on a common platform and the website will be available in 17 languages and populated by the 28 EU member states.

Police have previously broadcast images of Ferguson in Spain, where he is thought to be on the run.
