Schoolgirl, 15, accuses staff member over kiss on the lips

A GIRL accused a member of staff at a residential school of kissing her on the lips when she was 15 years old.

The teenager, now 16, alleged that Scott McGillivray kissed her up to five times.

She told Livingston Sheriff Court that at the time of the alleged offence in October 2011, she was a boarder at the school. McGillivray, 39, of Bathgate, West Lothian, denies breaching a position of trust.

The teenager – giving evidence from behind a screen – told yesterday how she and another teenage girl had been allowed a “sleepover” because they were the only two pupils in school that night. She and her friend, who was 14 at the time, were lying on two sofas watching films at 2am when, she claimed, McGillivray came into the games room. The girls watched “scary movies” with the accused and her friend fell asleep.

She said: “It was a normal kiss on the lips – not like snogging or that. He kissed me four or five times over five minutes, all on the lips.”

Under cross examination the girl conceded that she had not told anyone about the alleged incident for two months and that she later told police it was not true.

The trial was adjourned.
