School plants future seeds

DAVIDSON’S Mains Primary School is set to host the first Plant-for-the-Planet Academy in Scotland.

Children aged nine to 12 will cover topics including climate crisis and justice, as well as planting trees, at the free event today, which takes place during Climate Week 2012.

The initiative was inspired by nine-year-old German school pupil Felix Finkbeiner, who in 2007 suggested children could plant a million trees in every country to compensate for CO2 emissions.
