School to hosts chef finals

THE Edinburgh School of Food and Wine is to host the finals of the Young Scottish Seafood Chef of the Year competition.

The six finalists include Adam Newth from No1 The Balmoral. They will compete for the coveted prize at the school in Newliston on June 27, cooking with a variety of Scottish species including hake, herring, crab and scallops.

The competition is aimed at chefs under the age of 23. Finalists have already made a trip to Peterhead to go on board a number of fishing vessels and visit the fishmarket.
