Santa ready for take-off

A LITTLE festive magic was spread by Santa when he took time out of his busy schedule to hear some Christmas wishes.

P1 pupils at Murrayburn Primary got the chance yesterday to meet the man himself when he arrived in his mobile grotto at their school, as part of the Evening News and Lothian Buses Christmas appeal.

The campaign is raising vital funds for the Sick Kids Friends Foundation and is also aiming to bring a smile to the faces of those children who will spend the festive season in the city hospital.

Every child will receive a small gift, while their parents are asked to make a donation to the appeal, supported by Jenners, Tesco, sports store Decathalon and Dobbies garden centres.

But the appeal does not stop there. Readers are also invited to donate gifts for those who will be spending Christmas in Sick Kids.

All donations are welcome to be handed in, unwrapped, to any of the Lothian Buses travelshops on either Waverley Bridge, Hanover Street, Shandwick Place or Jarnac Court in Dalkeith.

Gifts for babies and older teenagers are needed the most – to really make a difference to their Christmas this year.
