London-based development firm Catalyst Capital bought the mall from former Rangers owner Sir David Murray’s company earlier this year. The new owner is spending £3 million on a “transformative refurbishment”, however, the upgrade will not disrupt businesses in the centre.

The Post Office is due to open in Princes Mall on November 3. Meanwhile, TIAA Henderson Real Estate, which owns the St James Centre, is due to begin work on a £850 million revamp next year, with more details of plans for the new St James Quarter to be revealed later this month.
