Rupert Bear's birthday drive

Rupert Bear celebrates his 90th birthday today with a charity auction to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy campaign.

A one-off 52cm collectable Steiff bear will go under the hammer with exclusive artwork from current illustrator Stuart Trotter to commemorate Britain's oldest bear.

Fans celebrated Rupert's milestone at the weekend at the Rupert Bear Museum in Canterbury with book signings with Mr Trotter and artwork viewings.

Bidding on the replica Rupert is open until 8pm on Sunday. Fans can place bids online at www.rupertbear.com/90.

All proceeds will go to the Muscular Dystrophy campaign.
