Royal Mile tea fit for Queen

THE Royal Mile is to host an afternoon tea party to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

Around 100 special guests – including pupils from Royal Mile Primary, residents of the Whitefoord House home for Scottish Veterans and local business leaders – will enjoy a traditional cream tea in West Parliament Square on June 3.

Lord Provost Donald Wilson said: “The tea party element is to make it a very British event and it will link up with what will be wide-ranging Jubilee celebrations in the city.”
