Roll of honour work praised

A MAN researching his family history has thanked the people who have raised the profiles of rare archives which are to go on display at this year's Leith Festival.

Andrew Grant was told about the First World War rolls of honour – which document the contribution of every Leith man in the Great War – and as a result found out information about his wife's uncle.

He said that thanks to historian and festival organiser Steve Mitchell, he was able to track down facts about John Dick, who lived in Leith and died in the First World War.
