Robber foiled by shop staff

A KNIFE-WIELDING robber was caught when a shop worker raised the alarm.

Burly Keith Whitehead, 37, was ordered to lie on the floor by police entering a gardening shop in Leith, a court heard yesterday.

Whitehead, of Southfield Place, pleaded guilty to assault and robbery on March 16 last year at a shop known as Hydra in Tower Street.
