Rival legal firms merge

An Edinburgh law firm has merged with one of its larger rivals.

Bonar Mackenzie has been acquired by Morisons and its five partners and 18 staff will work from the Queen Street office of the firm with immediate effect.

Morisons’ managing partner Robin Valentine said: “This development reinforces Morisons’ commitment to growth.”

Gary Thomas, commercial partner with Bonar Mackenzie, said: “We have always had ambitious plans for the firm and this merger enables us to accelerate them far quicker than [we could] on our own.”
