Right time to restart clock

GRANTON'S former Station House has had its original clock restored to working order despite being more than 100 years old.

Specialist clock makers were drafted in by developers to see if the HR Millar mechanical timepiece would work after years of non-action, only to discover it was missing just its winding handle.

The building is part of the Forthquarter site, serving as a reminder of the area's industrial heritage. Project manager Mike Alderton said: "I have often wondered if the clock would work."
