Richey sorry for phoning judge

FORMER death row inmate Kenny Richey has apologised for the threatening phonecall to a judge which could see him back in prison.

The Scot who spent 21 years on Death Row told an Ohio court: “I am extremely sorry for having made the call and truly apologise for it and my drunken behaviour.”

Richey, 47, had left a message on Judge Randall Basinger’s answering machine saying: “I’m coming to get you.”

Basinger was an assistant prosecutor when Richey was convicted of starting a fire that killed a two-year old girl in 1987.
